Dating in 2021: Being Ghosted

Dating has always been a difficult task no matter what turn of the century it is. There are professional serial daters and ghosters trawling the internet looking for their next victim. These people have no morals, compassion or empathy for other people, hence why they do what they do regularly.

So, what is Ghosting?

When a person cuts off all communication with their friends or the person they’re dating, with zero warning or notice beforehand. You’ll mostly see them avoiding friend’s phone calls, social media, and avoiding them in public.

I believe most people that ghost especially when it comes to dating and relationships have some form of narcissistic personality disorder.

What is Narcissistic Personality Disorder?

Narcissistic personality disorder — one of several types of personality disorders — is a mental condition in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance, a deep need for excessive attention and admiration, troubled relationships, and a lack of empathy for others. But behind this mask of extreme confidence lies a fragile self-esteem that’s vulnerable to the slightest criticism.

A narcissistic personality disorder causes problems in many areas of life, such as relationships, work, school or financial affairs. People with a narcissistic personality disorder may be generally unhappy and disappointed when they’re not given the special favours or admiration, they believe they deserve. They may find their relationships unfulfilling, and others may not enjoy being around them.

If you get ghosted, please do NOT take it as a negative. Please take it as a positive whereby the universe is protecting you as a good human being and removing these people immediately from your life. Whether it was a first date or a fourth one the fact they ghosted you sooner rather than later is a good thing.

Red Flags

No matter how long you have been speaking to a serial dater or ghoster they will ALWAYS show you red flags from the start due to their personality disorder. They will try to hide it but when your radar picks it up (gut feeling) you know this is not going to work out. If they then decide to ghost you, be thankful they have removed themselves without you having to do it. You have saved yourself months if not years of pain and healing.

You deserve better and will have better the more these people remove themselves from your life automatically the brighter your future looks. Remember no matter how good looking they may be red flags are red flags that should never be ignored. So, if you get ghosted take it is a positive thing as that particular person was not meant to be in your life and the universe is protecting you.
