Are you coloured blind or are you blinded by colour?
I have lived in London all my life and I am saddened by the recent behaviour of people, not only in London but throughout the UK. I have always been taught to judge someone based on their personality and not the colour of there skin. This is something I will pass down to my kids, but you cannot ignore that fact that we are going back to the dark ages.
There seems to be an abundance of closet racists or I like to call them casual racists that always seem to surface when a terrorist attack occurs. They hide behind their computer screens and cannot wait to warm those fingers up as soon as a terrorist attack occurs. It’s almost like they use a terrorist attack as justification to air there personal racist views and I am sick of it. Between the mainstream media making out that all black men are either drug dealers, thugs or associated with some sort of organised gang make me sick to the stomach.
The Muslim community in particular is feeling it at the moment and like the black community it never just starts or ever stops, it’s always there! So, going back to mainstream media and film producers etc. If we look at the history of coverage of the black community it’s always negative. All the good things the black community does or have done is always overshadowed by then negative. Why is that? Why can there not be more positive media coverage about the positive things the black community does?
Exactly, your guess is a good as mine it’s almost like the media want this constant pressure put on the black community for some reason. One particular channel being 5 which broadcasts Gangland or Inside The Gang. I think I watched an episode awhile ago and I had to turn the channel over as it was making me so angry. I thought to myself, could you imagine if you came to the UK for the first time and switch the TV over to Channel 5 and saw one of these programmes. What image would that portray for you on not only the black community, but young black men specifically.
You just have to watch the morning news or the evening news to see another black youth stabbed or shot nearly on a daily basis. What I would like to know is why, why is this the only news that gets shown on the black community. You’re telling me there is nothing else positive going on within the black community that is newsworthy? Pull the other one, something needs to change and it needs to change soon as I am sick of all this BS closet racists that are surfacing. I will not go into this particular subject too much as I will turn into a full-blown story as opposed to a blog.
As much as the big social media giants talk about recruiting additional staff and better artificial intelligence to block content online. So why is it on nearly a daily basis, there are young black children being shot by police officers in the US circulating and videos circulating of young black women being hanged? WTF is going on! Baring in mind, young children use social media, whether we like it or not they use it so why is this stuff being circulated!
The latest trend going around online now about the black community is that we are called sub humans! WTF is a subhuman, we as a race don’t even fall into the human category anymore, so we are not animals nor are we humans we are in between? So many people seem to be using this term and it deeply upsets me and saddens me as I feel the mainstream media has fuelled this. I can’t remember where I watched it online, but someone was talking about dating either a black woman or man and they responded with something like I would never date a subhuman!
I was shocked by this term as I have never heard it before and yes, there is a growing community out there that thinks we the black community are subhumans.
After the tragic incident that happened in Manchester with regards to the terrorist attack that recently occurred. The vile things people posted online about the Muslim community also shocked me, especially as I have some very good Muslim friends. I am sick of these closet racists surfacing when there is some sort of tragedy occurs. The anger people have against the Muslim community needs to stop.
Just like with any other race or culture you cannot tarnish a whole community with the behaviour of a small minority. Not every Muslim is a terrorist and the people who think they are need to go and educate themselves upon the Muslim faith. People will always fear the unknown, but the blatant racism I have seen is appalling and I needed to say something about it. We as a country need to unite and please do not allow the actions of a few tarnish the reputation of the wider community.
I myself have endured racism all my life and you learn to live with it, you should not have too but you do. When you mention racism now, you immediately get shot down by someone, why are you playing the race card. It’s not always about your colour, well for the people who say this unfortunately it is. Why are we not allowed to talk about it? Why are we not allowed to say we will not accept it anymore! If you could experience the blatant racism and not so blatant racism I have encountered all my life. I could assure you that you would not be saying that to me or anyone else.
All, I am interested in is people seeing you for you, not the colour of your skin or your religion but your personality. This is the only thing that you should be judged on, nothing more or nothing less. It’s your personality that makes you not the colour of your skin or religion!

Are you psychologically damaged? Have you been through a traumatic experience at some point in your life? Have you ever sat by yourself and thought, what I am thinking is not normal maybe I need to speak to someone?
I can honestly say the amount of people I know who are psychologically damaged and have not admitted it or even aware of it. This is where self-analysis comes in and being self-aware of one’s self and what you have been through within your life. So many people know they have been through a lot and refuse to admit it and try to fix it. Others just ignore it and think it will go away by itself which it never does.
So how do you identify it and these are just a few signs and symptoms Withdrawal, Drop in functioning, Problems thinking, Increased sensitivity, Apathy, Feeling disconnected, Illogical thinking, Nervousness, Sleep or appetite changes and Mood changes. This is not a definitive list but a good start to maybe pick up some dramatic changes within yourself and personality.
I have noticed the change in some of my friends and previous partners but none of them would admit it. I was met with a swift I have been through a lot in my life but people change and grow. No, there is change and growth in one’s self and there is psychological damage two entirely different things trust me. One particular date I went on the lady I have known for a very long time was displaying a lot of the signs and symptoms mentioned above. So, I asked her is everything alright, after a very long time of badgering her she finally reeled off all the things that had happened to her in the past.
Even though she identified something was wrong with herself she would not admit that she may need some help dealing with it. Again, I was quickly shut down and told “yeah I have been through allot and people change”. Bear in mind I have known this person for over 10 years and she was never like this before, apparently, people just change.
I will explain one thing, you can shy away from all of your problems as much as you want. Unfortunately, those problems will not shy away from you, meaning they will manifest themselves within your friendships, relationships and family. If your unhappy within yourself it shows and no amount of gym, posting selfies or telling everyone your fine is going to hide that. Some situations you have been through within your life may need some extra help and there is no shame on asking for it.
You will always know when something inside of you has changed and it’s how you deal with that change is the most important thing.

The Big VOTE is COMING!
As you are all aware the next general election is coming on Thursday 8 June 2017. You must have registered to vote by the 22nd May 2017. If you’re like me you probably have little or no interest in the upcoming general election. I have never voted in my life until now, yes, I have for once in my life registered to vote. I have never had any faith or interest in any of the political parties to run the country I have lived in all of my life.
Unfortunately, the Conservative party has made it personal not only to me and my family but to all hard-working families out there. My mum is disabled and registered disabled and the treatment she has received under the tory government has been utterly appalling. I am not going to go into everything that has happened with her but to her it feels like a kick in the teeth after working so hard in the UK and this is how she is being treated.
To make someone’s retired life so difficult is beyond comprehension and I am deeply saddened but what she has experienced. So, for me anyone is better than the Tories and for that I am voting for the Labour Party. I am not interested in the propaganda of the British media or what people are posting on social media. What I am interested is someone leading the country that not only will try their best but is also a human being. I want someone who is approachable and that is genuinely concerned for the people that they lead. Someone when you write a letter too not only responds but gets involved to help you resolve the issue you wrote to them about.
So, for this I vote for Jeremy Corbyn. Why because he is human and you can actually talk to him. Let’s be realistic he will never have a magic wand to fix all the crap going on in this country. All I want is someone that can make the current situation more manageable for everyone and to listen to the people. I want a leader that I can talk too and will not ignore me due to my class within society.
It is your decision on who you vote for and I have made my choice from personal experience with Jeremy Corbyn. As I said whoever runs this country will have a mammoth task and it will not be easy, so let’s make it more manageable and fairer for everyone!
As we all know dating nowadays has become increasingly frustrating. With the increase of social media usage and the boom of dating apps have we lost the good old-fashioned traditional dating? People are constantly complaining about the lack of commitment in relationships and if something goes wrong finding someone outside of the relationship to confide in is just a swipe or a click away.
So is it true that we see relationships as disposable and we don’t really have to work at them. Have you gone on a date and realised the person in front of you is either just weird or psychologically damaged? Due to the lack of suitors have you decided to take an oath of celibacy?
Well you would not be the first, people have gone to the extreme of marrying themselves (I know right). Now I am not quite at that stage myself but what I do know they days of traditional dating are officially dead. The change of the UK in Europe, cuts, Brexit, long hours at work and everything else you can through at someone. The motivation to date or stick with a relationship has diminished, no longevity with anything.
Everyone seems to have the attitude of wham bam thank you ma’am, this seems to be everything not just relationships. So how do we go back to basics and form real bonds and longer lasting relationships. I think we need to go back to basics, limit the use of technology, go out more and to change the environment we work and live. When you’re in a city everything is so fast paced and this tends to be passed down to our personal lives.
We must rush to be in a relationship, we must rush to get married, we must rush to have children or the latest one is we must all go to the gym and share loads of photos of how fit we are! The other new trend is narcissistic behaviour it’s a shame if people spent as much time working on their relationships or trying to find a decent partner, life would be so much better.
To all you singletons, put down those apps, laptops, computers and try something more traditional. Organise an event or dinner party, ask a group of singletons to go abroad on holiday or to the countryside. Think outside of the box and think traditional and non-technology related connections. I know it will be hard but isn’t that what we used to do before?
Have you given up on love?
Debt has always been a taboo subject everyone has some form of debt but no one ever wants to talk about it. This is for many reasons but embarrassment is probably one of the main ones. So are you one of those people who thinks either burying your head in the sand and hope it goes away or you are paying off interest and are delusional to the fact you are not actually paying the debt off. Living in a major city, low employment area or low education can also contribute to your debt.
The boring stuff, statistics for 2017 on debt
People in the UK owed £1.529 TRILLION at the end of March 2017. This figure is up from £1.484 TRILLION at the end of March 2016 – an extra £886.84 per UK adult.
The average total debt per household – including mortgages – was £56,632 in March.
That’s an average debt per adult of £30,277 – which is about 114.5% of average earnings.
Consumer Credit Levels
Outstanding consumer credit lending was £197.4 BILLION at the end of March 2017.
This is up from £182.8 BILLION at the end of March 2016, and is an increase of £288.31 for every adult in UK.
This means average consumer credit borrowing per UK adult is now £3,909
Credit Card Borrowing
Total credit card debt in March 2017 was £67.6 BILLION. This is an average of £2,504 per household
This means at the average credit card interest rate it would take 25 years and 11 months to repay if you made the minimum repayments each month.
Debts Written Off By Banks
UK banks and building societies wrote off £640 MILLION of loans and credit card debt to individuals in quarter 4 of 2016. That’s roughly £7 MILLION a day.
3,321 consumer County Court Judgments (CCJS) are issued every day, with an average value of £1,495.
Number Of Personal Insolvencies
248 people a day are declared insolvent or bankrupt. This is equivalent to one person every 6 MINUTES 13 SECONDS.
Can debt affect your health, yes it sure can and it can commonly cause mental health problems, denial, stress, fear/panic, anger and depression.
So, what do you do to get help?
I would recommend the following if you can consolidate your debt into one manageable monthly payment. You can shop around for a low-interest rate loan to consolidate all your little debts into one. Next cut up all credit cards and store cards immediately as this is not cash but debt and will continue to add to yours if you don’t get rid of them.
If your debt has spiralled out of control and you are in serious financial difficulty please seek advice from a debt management company/charity. I would recommend you speak to a company called StepChange Debt Charity www.stepchange.org the offer free advice and support.
Do not hide from your debt but face it head on as the relief you will feel once you have will change your life. No more letters in the post or avoiding phone calls you can start to live your life in peace again.
